Step-by-Step Measuring Guide
1
Gather Your Tools
You'll need a flexible tape measure (cloth or plastic — not a rigid steel ruler), a pen, and paper or your phone to record measurements. A helper makes it easier for larger units.
💡 Tip: A flexible dressmaker's tape measure is ideal — it follows contours better than a metal one.
2
Open the Door Fully
Open your fridge or freezer door all the way. Locate the rubber door seal (gasket) — it's the flexible rubber strip that runs around the inside edge of the door, creating an airtight closure.

3
Measure the Width
Measure the inside width of the door opening — from the inner edge of the seal groove on one side to the inner edge on the other side. Do NOT measure the outside of the door.

💡 Write this measurement as: Width = [your measurement] mm
4
Measure the Height
Measure the inside height of the door opening — from the inner top edge of the seal groove down to the inner bottom edge. Again, measure the inside opening, not the full door height.

💡 For top-mount freezers: measure the fridge door and freezer compartment door separately.
5
Find Brand & Model Number
Check inside the fridge on the wall panel, or along the door frame edge, for a label showing the brand name and model number. This helps us confirm the correct seal for your unit without needing custom measurements.
💡 Common locations: left-side interior wall, top of fridge interior, or inside the door hinge area.
✓ We stock pre-made seals for Fisher & Paykel, Westinghouse, Samsung, LG, Kelvinator & Electrolux.
6
Take Photos (Highly Recommended)
Photograph your fridge/freezer with the door open, and take a close-up of the existing door seal. A photo of the seal profile cross-section (if damaged or partially removed) is especially helpful for custom orders.
You can upload photos directly on our product page when placing a custom order — this helps us ensure the perfect fit.
💡 For commercial units (Skope, Bromic, True, Turbo Air): also photograph any branding/model number on the unit.
Pro Measuring Tips
📏 Measure Twice
Always measure twice and record both readings before placing your order.
🌡️ Measure at Room Temp
Rubber seals can shrink slightly when cold — measure when the unit is at room temperature for the most accurate reading.
📐 Inside, Not Outside
Always measure the inside of the opening (groove), never the outside dimensions of the door itself.
↕️ Check All Four Sides
On some models, the top/bottom differ from the left/right. Measure all four sides to be safe.
🔧 Old Seal Can Help
Lay your old seal flat and photograph it next to a ruler — this helps identify the profile type for replacement.
